CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP CHURCH, QATAR

God has called us for a special Purpose

“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10 for you once were not a people, but now you are the people of God; you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.” (1 Peter 02:09-10)

God saved us by His great love and poured out His mercy to us. We received His mercy and became His people when we experienced the salvation through Lord Jesus Christ. This marvelous work of God brought us to a new realm of life.

a) A Chosen Race

God’s children are a chosen race. We were the race of Adam obeying the devil, following the world and living for doing our own will but God brought us to the race of Lord Jesus Christ so that we live to do the will of our heavenly father by the help of Holy Spirit through Lord Jesus Christ.

b) A Royal Priesthood

We were serving devil and manifesting his nature and character in our life. Our life was kept for eternal damnation. But God made us a royal priesthood to serve Him alone. We received a royal hereditary through Lord Jesus Christ and we are serving the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

c) A Holy Nation

We were dead in our trespasses and sin. We were full of sin and that was our character and nature. But God made us a nation which is holy. Our primary mark is holiness

d) A People for God’s own possession

We belonged to the devil through Adam and were a possession for him. But God purchased us by giving Jesus Christ as a ransom for us. So now no one else has any right on us. We completely belong to God.

God brought us to this marvelous position with a purpose. We should proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called us out of darkness to His marvelous light. Our proclamation should be like that of Jesus. Jesus showed to this world how God is through His life. We also should follow the same path of Jesus Christ.

“God saved us by His great love and poured out His mercy to us”

“So that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world” (Phil 02:15)

“Keep your behavior excellent among the Gentiles, so that in the thing in which they slander you as evildoers, they may because of your good deeds, as they observe them, glorify God in the day of visitation” (1 Pet 02:12)
